Edhellond was a large city and harbor in southern Gondor. It was located at the mouth of the rivers Ringló and Blackroot, where they flow into Cobas Haven just over twenty-five miles northeast of Dol Amroth.

After word was reached of Sauron's death and the destruction of the One Ring, many Silvan Elves who had recently left and ventured west to the Undying Lands decided to return and resettle back in the east. Other Silvan Elves who had not been to Middle-Earth before traveled too, and wanted to see what it was like.
